Straight after school the street belongs to kids on scooters and balls while parents stand talking in the doorways. The terraces only spread across the middle once that thins out, around eight.

Sunday around one, people work down Blai a bar at a time with a vermut and a pintxo at each, eating standing at the pavement tables rather than sitting. Two or three stops and they move on.
The pintxo bars along the pedestrian stretch keep their plates out on the counter and charge by the stick.
