Mostly cycling straight through on the way out towards the port, with commuters and people carrying towels rather than anyone stopping, and dogs walked early and after dark on the bare, shadeless last stretch.

Past the arts city the park stops pretending to be a garden and turns into a straight bike run — this is where you pick up the route out to the port and Malva-rosa. Commuters and people with towels on the handlebars, and essentially zero tourists: the crowd falls off a cliff the moment you cross under the harp bridge.

Wide, bare and shadeless, so nobody comes here to sit — which is exactly why dog owners from the blocks above walk it early and after dark, when it's empty enough to let the dog off the lead. Unusable in the middle of a summer day.
