The free courts down in the riverbed here work on informal queueing — a group waiting at the fence line means you're next, and the pattern is that whoever's on stays until they lose. Evenings and Sunday mornings it's kickabouts among locals; the rest of the time it's kids from the surrounding blocks.

West of Nou d'Octubre the tidy lawns give out and you get earth pitches that neighbourhood sides book up on weekday evenings — same faces, same shirts, plenty of shouting. It's the least garden-like part of the whole riverbed.
