The leftover street-circuit asphalt on the south side of the dársena is wide, smooth and completely traffic-free, so it's where inline skaters do laps and where parents take kids who are still wobbling on two wheels. Nobody's there for the view — they're there because nothing can hit you.

Dogs aren't welcome on the city beaches through the bathing season, so the quiet quays round the back of the basin become the default walk. Early morning it's almost all dogs down there.

Runners finishing the Turia carry straight on into the marina and loop the docks — flat, hard, no traffic lights and almost nobody to dodge. The casual crowd stays on the beach paseo; the ones counting kilometres come in here.
