The coastal bike lane effectively ends here, so groups riding down from Patacona and Malva-rosa stop at this corner to regroup, drink and turn round. It's a waypoint, not a destination — people are there for five minutes.

The wall kills the swell and most of the wind, so the water in that corner is flat when the rest of the beach is choppy. It's where people bring toddlers, and it's well south of where the volley nets go up.

The strip of sand right in front of the paella terraces is the most touristed sand on the whole coast — locals will happily eat there on a Sunday, then walk fifteen minutes north before they actually put a towel down. If someone spreads out in front of the restaurants, they arrived this week.
